Arianna’s Story

The Club has been a part of Arianna’s life since she was young. By the age of 7, she had gone into end-stage liver failure and needed a liver transplant immediately. The Club was a huge support system for her and family during that time. After receiving her life saving transplant, Arianna was at the Boys & Girls Club most days after school. Her favorite space was in the art room so she could paint, draw, and escape from the reality of her life. Arianna stated, “The Club feels like second home and family to me. It’s somewhere that is always open for to go to no matter the circumstances.”

Arianna has stayed connected with the Club through her years and is a part of its Teens 2 Work program. She states, “The Club helped me find a job when I needed it and helped me get to and from work. I also got to meet different teens through this program that I am now friends with.” Arianna is still employed at that first job of hers and she is thankful for this opportunity the Club has provided her.

Arianna has been grateful for what all the Club has done for her and hopes to return the favor one day, “The Club has saved me in a way, and I want to give back to them as much as I realistically can. Whether that be participating in events or making events there myself. One day I hope to eventually offer up art lessons for younger kids at the Club.” Arianna is excited to use her platform to share her love and passion for art to the world.
